Kareem joined the Board in July 2024 as an elected representative. He is the proud father of three ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø students Mariam, a recent graduate pursuing Architecture at the University of Virginia; Noor, currently in 12th grade; and Yousef in 7th grade. They relocated as a family to Egypt in 2021 from Vienna, Virginia, where they resided for the past 20 years.
Kareem spent the past 25 years in consulting and investments. He currently leads investments in payment companies globally for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) which is a member of the World Bank Group. He spent the past 20 years active on more than 10 corporate boards including spending 8 years on the board of Fawry (Egypt) which is the leading payment platform in Egypt and was publicly listed on the Cairo Stock Exchange in 2019. He has also chaired or been involved on several types of committees, including strategy, remuneration, audit, and investments and have dealt with a broad range of board dynamics including conflicts, HR issues, and difficult turnaround situations of distressed companies.
Kareem holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and an MBA from Columbia University.
