HS Program Highlight: Flex block

HS Flex Block

Scheduled free blocks of time in the school day provides �ϰ��ϲʹ�� HS students with a break from academic demands, which helps reduce stress and prevent burnout. This time can be used for self-care activities, such as exercise, mindfulness, or spending time with friends, which helps our students feel more relaxed and refreshed. Additionally, scheduled free blocks of time provide students with opportunities to pursue their interests and passions, such as participating in clubs or pursuing hobbies, which promotes a sense of fulfillment and engagement. Finally, free blocks of time provide our �ϰ��ϲʹ�� HS students with more flexibility in managing their time, which helps reduce the pressure of balancing academic and extracurricular demands.

MS Advisory Program

The �ϰ��ϲʹ�� middle school advisory program covers a variety of health and well-being topics such as physical health, mental health, healthy relationships, wellness, and stress management. Desired outcomes of the �ϰ��ϲʹ�� MS advisory program include:

- Emotional regulation: Learning how to manage emotions effectively leads to greater emotional stability and resilience, which are important components of overall well-being.

- Positive self-image: Encouraging positive self-talk and healthy self-esteem helps students feel more confident and self-assured, which will lead to better mental health outcomes.

- Mindfulness: Practicing mindfulness techniques, such as relaxation, helps students manage stress and anxiety more effectively, leading to greater well-being.

- Healthy habits: Encouraging healthy habits, such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and adequate sleep, leads to improved physical health outcomes and greater overall well-being.

- Self-care: Teaching students the importance of self-care, such as taking time to recharge and engage in activities they enjoy, helps prevent burnout and promote better mental health.

- Social connectedness: Building strong social connections and friendships helps students feel more supported and less isolated, which will have a positive impact on their overall well-being.

ES Student Agency

Promoting student agency in our �ϰ��ϲʹ�� elementary school has multiple benefits for health and well-being. When students have agency, they feel a sense of ownership and control over their learning, which leads to increased motivation and engagement in learning activities. This will help reduce stress and anxiety and improve mental health and well-being outcomes. Additionally, promoting student agency aids students’ development of important life skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, and self-regulation, which contribute to a sense of competence and self-efficacy.
